Client Account Director

As Client Director you’ll help lead the client-facing side of the business. You’ll build and maintain trusting, frictionless relationships with a range of clients, understanding their brand vision to create amazing work, aligned to strategic objectives.

You should be comfortable with a broad range of brand and communication disciplines, on and offline. You’ll have an exceptional ability to communicate your ideas and build trust and confidence through meaningful, proactive dialogue. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll constantly solve business problems, manage internal and external communications, and drive projects to completion through team management. You’ll also be involved in winning new work through pitches.

You’ll:

  • Act as a highly visible, respected and trusted adviser to clients
  • Act as an ambassador for the agency by demonstrating a sound understanding of disciplines
  • Accountable for the strength of the client relationship with the agency overall
  • Work with the planning team to develop strategic plans and effectiveness measures
  • Present confidently and articulately both internally and externally
  • Effectively and fairly delegate workload through the team for the most efficient process
  • Inspire and empower other members of the team, encouraging them to take ownership, whilst providing hands-on support
  • Identify and maximise opportunities to increase revenue, cross-selling group services
  • Actively contribute to the annual marketing plan to develop accounts
  • Create and devise winning proposals with support from the senior team
  • Demonstrate strong creative and strategic judgment to ensure work is consistently of the highest quality
  • Understand your clients’ competitive issues, business challenges, opportunities and industry trends
  • Confidentially negotiate commercial contracts in the interests of the company
  • Anticipate the future challenges of existing and potential clients and foster long-term, knowledge driven relationships
  • Present a cohesive and compelling strategic narrative to the agency teams, inspiring them to develop amazing work that solves business problems
  • Oversee account finances, including revenue forecasting 

We need you to have:

  • 5+ years experience in a senior agency or client side account management role with clear experience in mentoring and developing a team and wrong stakeholder management across all levels
  • MIPA accredited status (or working towards MIPA) or any other relevant marketing qualifications as defined by the company.
  • A degree-level education (preferred, not necessary)
  • A passion for marketing, advertising and effectiveness
  • Experience of running strategic and insight led campaigns with solid implementation experience and strong demonstrable experience of running integrated marketing campaigns
  • Commercial excellence, proven experience with managing budgets to maximise business profitability and adding value to clients

Strong background of working on retail accounts is required.

Media Research Executives (Graduate Trainee)

Differentology is a new breed ‘res tech’ company, combining research and technology to gain consumer insights. Our client list includes Samsung, The Times, Sky TV and Santander… to name a few.

You’ll be the latest addition to a team of experienced professionals who have built their reputation with some of the most high profile and innovative projects in media research.

Your average day will involve project management and analysis of quantitative research studies and investigating the effectiveness of specific client advertising campaigns.

A key part of the job role involves designing surveys, ensuring that data is properly processed and analysed, compiling data outputs into reports, and ensuring it all happens on time and on budget.

You’ll be based in Newcastle, but you’ll pop down to our London office occasionally too.

We need you to:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Be good with people
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Be able to work with numerical data
  • Have tenacious attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Have a can-do attitude
  • Have the desire to work hard and prove yourself

Experience of SPSS (or similar statistical software) is would be great, but it’s not essential.

We have two offices based in Newcastle and London, you will be primarily based in Newcastle.
